It's up
     full cup

          begins 
               our grins

believes
     gray thieves

          think hard
               not barred

unlocks
     all blocks

          and steals
               seed meals

from roof
     as proof

          outwit
               with grit

with twists
     persists

          begins
               their wins

cup's bare-
     then stare

          hope we'll
               refill

Hello Sandra, I sometimes see the squirrels leap onto a tiny wire to get at the birdseeds. Yes they put on a good show. Hugs./ Darlene/

I've seen this picture. It is hysterical. Those little rascals are quite persistent, you're right. I love the form of you poem, I get it, twisted and circular like the event taking place in your pictured poem. A wonderfully, true, funny poem!!! I just loved it.

Hi, Marikate, it was so nice of you to visit my poem and leave positive and uplifting comments! Yes, I found the video clip online, but we have that scene depicted in our yard too. I placed my words to show motion, but the form is called a Footle, invented by the sponsor of this contest, Brian Strand- two-syllable words per line that rhyme.
