The Silent KISS

Written: August 20, 2025, for contest Sponsored by: Constance La France

Quote" I choose to kiss you in the wind, for the wind is gentler than my lips."By Rumi

               *************

Wrapped in the warmth of your tender sigh
As night enfolds us, I merge with you in the sky
Amidst the silent serenade of whispering moans
Our lips meet in a yielding kiss, devoid of tones.

A gentle kiss upon the brow, silent, unseen
A whisper of flesh, soul, and hopes to glean
No spotlights or large displays of zeal—
Only hope, steady, and unwavering to reveal.

It doesn't blaze with fury or crave limelight
It settles in such silence, soft and polite
A pause in the chaos, a breath in the race
A gentle reminder: you have a safe space.

It rests on your brow such as calm at night
As hands that cradle when the world is contrite
A peace that lingers when tempests depart
No words to remember, just the silence of the heart

Our hearts echo a whisper, as a dove
A delicate caress, a breeze of cosmic love.

"It doesn't blaze with fury or crave limelight It settles in such silence, soft and polite" What a soothing and heavenly feel you have given. From the quote of Rumi at the beginning to the very end, I enjoyed every line of your poem. The kiss has landed like a soft downy feather. "A peace that lingers when tempests depart No words to remember, just the silence of the heart". It has left a lingering peace and no fury of emotions. Loved your alignment too. A well deserved first place, dear Lasaad. Congratulations!

This is a poem that celebrates stillness and vulnerability. The language is lush yet understated, each image quietly anchoring the reader in warmth, trust, and comfort. It's a love poem that doesn’t shout—but whispers, lingers, and fills its space with subtle resonance.

truly an out-of-this world romance poem....so beautifully constructed with flowing and soft imagery. Every verse reminded me of the expression of mature, soulful love delicately expressed in your poem. This is definitely a FAVE! hugs from Texas, Sara
