The Road Ahead

A gaslit street of cobblestone The horse-drawn carriage faintly moans A snowstorm quickens the traveler groans The road ahead no longer shown His way home no longer known The road ahead no longer shown A white tombstone whistles ~ all alone

Really vivid imagery here—makes me feel the cold and uncertainty right alongside the traveler. The ending line with the tombstone whistle is hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Gershon!

Spooky and atmospheric, ultimately with a great unfortunate ending! It reminds me of the end of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

What a wonderful "The Road Ahead" write. Picture was painted by your pen. I have been off the computer for a few days and now way behind. Have a lovely day writing away......

OH, a deep, dark walk with the Wolf man. Nicely done, the picture painted in my mind...
