The Pearl

Heavy is the head that holds the crown
I desire to be his purple peace
When the world is beating him down
May he know he can come to me

I’ll kiss away your turquoise tears
And block all the negativity
Together we will face white fears
And create consistent chocolate peace

The heart of a man is a priceless Pearl
That he may hide due to necessity
Mental health moments not just for girl
A good cry and peace of mind all need

Have you ever seen a man cry
If not it is likely due to stigma sadly
Be a helpmate that he can rely
With God to create heart so happy

Men often fight wars in the service
Come home to then deal with ptsd
Often spouses are feeling nervous
Not knowing just what the man needs

Love is a small but powerful force
And it may not be the cure all
But before parting in denim divorce
Let loyalty and compassion stand tall

I’ve seen so many people torn
By life and death and silver sacrifice
I admire each conscious king born
And pray peace and resilience in your life

Beautiful. My dad had ptsd when he came home from war, it was terrible. My mom stayed by his side for 43 years of marriage, and never married anyone else after he died, even wearing her wedding ring till she passed on 25 years after he had passed. You poem is so beautiful, beyond words. Fave

Karen, you express some very kind thoughts. Men can hurt deeply and some of us can cry. It's not a bad thing at all. We can have tears with our smiles!! Take care!!

I desire to be his purple peace… A good cry and peace of mind all need… Let loyalty and compassion stand tall… Nicely said, yes not easy, love is a small but powerful force, seems not a cure all, still keep pressing forward…

Yes not all can be healed by man or woman but with God…a way is created to persevere. Thanks for reading Kim.

So true that men never express their heartaches or cry before anyone... not because they don't experience any pain, but because it is a stigma for men to shed tears. When they are in trouble, understand them better and give them love which is an antidote to all tensions. Karen, a beautiful poem on human nature and the psychology of men.

Thank you Valsa. I know men who were molested raped in youth and some who are veterans and some who were victims of domestic violence from female partners. All too often they are silenced or looked at unfairly despite their own personal victimization. Thank you for reading.

Very nice poem, Karen. A struggle and path many grapple with. Loyalty and compassion go a long ways in resolving things in the long run.
