I have known hurt
Known pain
Been mistreated
Time and again

I have known loss
Known debilitating grief
Been betrayed
When l truly believed

I have known deceit
Lost trust
Known disappointment
Treated unjust

Life goes on
I will forever rise above
Simply because
I know love!
