Notes About The Poem

He No Longer Loves

He is no longer in love with me. His spoken words flesh caught like dull razors. Churning pains toss me in raw seeped reelings. I feel feather fragile as weighty aches conflict and trip me upon foreign ground. Heavy, my eyes are merely tear-weak slits. God, in prayer I do ask, with mercy come and ease my wrecked self with gift feels of numb.

The closer we get, the more the words slash and rip. As they say: Careful - there's a relationship in there...

Evocative poem - stunned by harsh words.

Dear CayCay, Your words land gently yet powerfully like fragments of glass catching light in the quietest moments of pain. I feel that sift in every line. There’s a raw vulnerability here that is both fragile and fierce the kind that makes the soul ache but also opens it wider. Summer Blessings, My Dear CayCay, Daniel

Words can cut and some words cut deep. They leave bruises which even time cannot heal. That's why we are warned that we should be very cautious when we use our tongue. With heavy weeping, eyes have become mere slits! Powerfully moving poem that matches well with the image, dear Cay Cay

Dear CayCay, a very moving poem. It's almost surprising how words can hurt more than daggers sometimes, they leave wounds behind and the wounds never heal. But at the end, it's just words. Words, wow, are indeed very powerful. Best, Anne

Words are no different than swords in terms of the pain they can inflict, no blood or death, but pain that must be followed by healing. I appreciate your comments very much, Anne. (Anne is such a pretty, timeless name.) Poetry hugs ... CayCay

I'm touched in all the right places; you are so sweet to share that with me. I've missed my Soup peps, too. (oh, you should read my "I love small boxed faces' - it so applies.) Sometimes, I withdraw from all, I have a history of such. Love and light ... CayCay
