Notes About The Poem

Line's Bitesize No. 122 ~ 9/4/25

Glowing Gibbous Moon

Ripe are amethyst crops in the field
beneath the glow of a gibbous moon.
October revealed in romantic luminance,
one of Nature's gloriously beautiful seasons.
There's a chill aloft, whispering on the night air.

I like this picture, bounty of crops in the chill. Yay for October. Let's enjoy before it snows.

No snow for me down South, Hilda but I look forward to the change of season. Thank you for reading and commenting.

Lin, a beautiful description of the moonlight and what we see while receiving its reflected light. I appreciate that you used the term gibbous. I was looking at the moon during the day and last evening and notice you've identified the correct phase. You could moonlight as an astronomer! Looking up is a really good thing to do. (thinking of the film don't look up...which I hope you have seen). We can see it during the day too, provided we know where to look. Smiles to the smart one!!

I'm pleased that you got the connection between my line and the current moon phase. Love looking at celestial bodies but an astronomer is not in the cards for me. lol Smart is a relative term, and some already call me arrogant. A misnomer but I don't give a flying fig. It's a fool's errand to try and correct closed minds. Thanks for the kind comments and smiles, Duke.

John, the whisperings are not the same for everyone. It tells us what we need to know, not what we want to hear. Thanks for liking these lines.
