Notes About The Poem

Frosty the Showman

Perhaps earth will be lovingly kissed With snowfall at a time such as this To grace the holy day Jesus was laid in hay Our first and most blessed of Christmas gifts. A short lifespan, a joyful lifespan For Frosty the cold, winter showman With hat, scarf, pipe and gloves Provided with much love From children who adore a snowman. Slowly, sadly, snowman melts away To the sorrow of childhood at play Hopefully he'll be back Before winter has past And snowflakes come falling thick and fast.

Beryl, sounds like a lot of fun to build and a bit sad to watch the melting. It makes snowfall something special to play with. I remember how hard it was to place one large snowball on top of the other, but it was fun. Smiles!!

So sorry I missed your comment Duke, better late than never. Being one of five sisters it was lots of fun building a snowman in the garden many years ago, the memories live on… Beryl
