                                              I grow older
                                          by the minute he
told her, in a tender voice.
The doctor says it wont be
long, but I don’t have the choice.
You know I want to be with you,
my darling as soon as I can.
                                You’ll always be my sweetheart
and I’ll always be your man.
                                At night he would sometimes
                                be watching the star's trajectory.
He would be lying on the empty
plot beside her at the cemetery
It didn’t matter if clouds bathed
in sunshine or if it rained instead.
His gravestone was ready for the
                                future. Together Again it read.

This month seemed like an eternity as he sat beside her empty chair.
His eyes no longer sparkled, now his soul mate was no longer there.
His love for her was more than a myriad of stars in the sky.
He knew she was watching over him, so he dared not to cry.
He took flowers from their garden to her every single day.
Up to the hillside and by her gravestone, the roses he would lay.

Andrea your appreciation of my poem is so welcomed, thank you. (No its just a lil picture online in free pics that seemed to fit the poem I had a lovely site with wonderful free pictures but they closed it and the one that took its place charges $84 a month for unlimited use of their pictures. So that was the end of that.) Have a great weekend my friend.

You are so right Jay, Its been over thirty years since Mum and Dad have passed, my love for them will always stay. Thirty years ! wow it seems like yesterday.. The words "Together Again" really are on my Dad's plaque at the cemetery, next to Mum's. Thanks for your warm comment Jay, your words are always appreciated.
