Notes About The Poem

Beyond the Horizon

The sky and sea intermingled as a mist evolved.
Soon a moon appeared surrounded by tiny stars.
From the beach, a whisper of awe arose, all wondered
Onlooking the misty phenomenon of a beauty rarely seen.

Night fell and some bathers rested on the sandy beach.
Could the sky kiss the sea, most wondered musing a lot.
It was a sensation of wonder and mystifying occurrence
Yet finally most lay down into a deep sleep and dreamt.

A summerlike breeze swirled around them prodding dreams.
Most wondered what could one find beyond the horizon.
Many felt that beyond was a void, others dreamt of sunken ships.
But many dreamt of fantastic beings that hovered around.

Soon the sun rose from faraway. Ships sailed placidly
And on the horizon, a cruise ship manoeuvred to far off lands.

Dear Victor, What I love most is how you've captured that universal human tendency to wonder about the mysteries right in front of us. The question "Could the sky kiss the sea?" is so poetic and childlike in the best way for it shows how natural phenomena can still fill us with awe and curiosity no matter how old we get. Blessings, Victor, Daniel

Dearest Victor, what a dreamy and enchanting scene you’ve painted. The blending of sea and sky, the mystery of the mist, and the way it carries into dreams is just beautiful. It feels like a quiet meditation on wonder, imagination, and the unknown that lies beyond the horizon. Truly captivating....Hugs

Hey, good looking, whatcha got cooking? Lovely poem. Seems your pen is greatly inspired by the ocean. Are you near a beach? If not, like me, you can visit one by reading your many lovely poems involving the sea. This one didn't have a female in it, other than as a nonspecific 'wonderer'. Feel good or even better. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
