A Foot Alone - Rondelet

A foot alone
tries the water that ocean lays,
A foot alone
on sand placed within God's tears moan,
where the massive skin paled away —
forgiven in tide's passing spray,
A foot alone

Your poem is lovely and deep, like the ocean. Thank you for sharing this gem. :)

Paige, this is quietly profound. The rondelet form suits the emotion so well--“on sand placed within God's tears moan” gave me actual chills. It feels like a moment of solitude made sacred. Truly beautiful.

Makes me think of the Apostle Peter. who tried the water on the way to Jesus. The center of your rondelet is filled with angst. The sea is wild and gives itself to angst.

That was deep, poetess Kim. New eyes- on the sea.

Very well done, Paige. I love the beach and sea. It could be all that we have to cope with, and your metaphors are just outstanding. Paige, this is going to be my favourite.

Paige, very nicely done. I'm thinking of the foot print in sand being obliterated by the water. Love the sand and water. It might represent all we have to work with. I'm also thinking that everything we do eventually crumbles. Therefore, why should we burden ourselves with empire building...it might just be a sand castle. You're making me think about life's meaning. Great poem! Smiles!!
