Wild Heart II

To understand this chapter, and if you're willing to read it, I would recommend you to read the last chapter. Hope you enjoy reading it... As much as I enjoyed writing it!

Chapter 2. You're joking? You? My father?

And welcome back, dear readers! Where did we leave things in last chapter...? Oh, right! Storytime, my darlings! Get comfy.

One afternoon, Verónica had just stepped out of the driving school, feeling a mix of accomplishment and relief after conquering her initial fears. She made her way back home, thinking about the day's events. Little did s khenow that fate had a surprise waiting for her just around the corner. Damned fate...

As they walked towards their house, Verónica noticed a familiar face approaching. It was a man with a confident stride, stylish attire, and a grin that seemed almost too perfect. Too perfect to be true. It was Diego Jonás, the Hollywood heartthrob and, unbeknownst to Verónica, her long-lost father. Oh gosh, Kiara will go feral when she'll find out this...

Diego, spotting Verónica, decided it was finally time to reveal the truth. He approached her with a charming smile, his hands in his pockets.

"Hey there," he said casually. Oh what an amazing introduction. Sheesh.

Verónica squinted at him, a hint of skepticism in her eyes. "Do I know you?"

Diego chuckled, "Well, that's a loaded question. But let me cut to the chase. I'm Diego Jonás, and I believe we have some catching up to do."

Verónica raised an eyebrow, "Diego Jonás? The actor? What's this, a hidden camera show?"

"No hidden cameras, I promise," Diego replied, pulling out his phone. "Take a look at this."

He showed Verónica a picture of him in high school, standing side by side with a younger version of Kiara. The realization slowly dawned on Verónica as she recognized her mother in the photo.

"That's my mom," she muttered, her eyes widening.

"Yep, and guess what? I'm your father," Diego said with a smug grin. Oh this man is as handsome as stupid. Hell.

Verónica's jaw dropped, and she stared at Diego in disbelief. "You've got to be kidding me."

"Nope, not kidding. I know it's a lot to take in, but it's the truth," Diego insisted.

Verónica shook her head, "This has got to be some elaborate prank. My mom never mentioned you, and you're telling me you're my dad? Please."

Diego sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Look, I know it's hard to believe. But it's true. Your mom and I... well, we have history. And you're the result of that history."

Verónica was still skeptical, crossing her arms. "I need more than a photo and a Hollywood story to believe this."

Diego sighed again, feeling a bit defeated. "Fine, how about we go grab a coffee, and I'll fill you in on the details. I've got more proof, and I promise it'll make sense."

Verónica hesitated but eventually agreed. They walked to a nearby café, where Diego continued to share his story, providing more evidence and answering Verónica's skeptical questions. As he spoke, Verónica's disbelief slowly turned into acceptance.

Meanwhile, back at the house, Kiara arrived home in a frenzy, still trying to process the unexpected encounter with the poster of Diego on the bus. Selena, ever the supportive sister, noticed Kiara's distress.

"What happened, Kia? You look like you've seen a ghost," Selena remarked.

Kiara took a deep breath and spilled the beans about seeing Diego Jonás on the bus and the shocking revelation that he was Verónica's father.

Selena's eyes widened. "Diego Jonás? The actor? And he's Vero's dad? That's insane!"

"Yeah, tell me about it. I didn't see that coming back for me. I thought that if I never mentioned him again he'd just be a bad memory in my brain," Kiara sighed.

Just as they were processing this revelation, Verónica and Diego walked into the house. Verónica looked a bit dazed, and Diego wore a hopeful expression.

Kiara and Selena stared at them, and Selena couldn't help but crack a joke to lighten the mood.

"Well, look who's here. The Hollywood heartthrob gracing our humble abode. Does this mean we get free tickets to your next movie, Diego?" Selena teased.

Diego chuckled, "I'll see what I can do."

Verónica rolled her eyes, still processing the surreal turn of events. "This is too much. I need a moment."

As she spoke, Verónica's legs gave way, and she passed out on the living room floor.

Selena gasped, "Well, that's one way to make an entrance."

Kiara rushed to her daughter's side, shaking her gently. "Vero, wake up! What happened?"

"I think reality hit her a bit too hard," Selena quipped.

They decided to call an ambulance just to be safe, and soon, Verónica was on her way to the hospital with Kiara and Selena by her side. The Fuentes women, and Diego, found themselves in yet another unexpected twist, navigating the complexities of family dynamics and newfound connections.

In the hospital waiting room, as they waited for news on Verónica's condition, Diego, Kiara, and Selena found themselves in a peculiar situation. The tension was palpable, but Selena, always the one to diffuse awkward moments with humor, couldn't resist making a quip.

"Well, this is quite the family reunion. Can someone pass the popcorn?" she said, earning a half-smile from Kiara.

Diego, feeling a bit out of place, attempted to lighten the mood. "I never thought my return to town would involve a hospital visit. Maybe I should stick to romantic comedies."

Kiara sighed, "Life has a way of surprising us, doesn't it?"

Diego and Kiara found themselves sitting across from each other, both feeling a bit awkward in the unexpected reunion. Selena had excused herself to get some coffee, leaving Diego and Kiara alone.

Kiara couldn't help but break the silence. "So, Diego, What brings you back after all these years?"

Diego smirked, "Well, Kiara Fuentes, the master of makeup and hairstyling. I heard there was a shortage of good hair stylists in Hollywood, so I thought I'd check if you're available."

Kiara rolled her eyes, "Oh please, Diego. I've moved on to more important things in life, like raising our daughter without any help from Mr. Famous Actor."

Diego raised an eyebrow, "Our daughter? Last time I checked, you never bothered to tell me about her existence."

Kiara shot back, "You think I didn't try? But you were too busy being a Hollywood sensation to answer a call or respond to a letter."

Diego sighed, "Look, Kiara, I messed up back then. I admit it. But I'm here now, and I want to be a part of Verónica's life."

Kiara crossed her arms, "Oh, how noble of you. Now that you've conquered Hollywood, you want to be a family man? I'm not buying it."

Diego leaned forward, "Kiara, I never forgot about you. I regret leaving, but I want to make amends. Verónica deserves to know her father, and I want to be there for her."

Kiara scoffed, "You want to be there for her now? After all these years? I've been doing just fine without you, thank you very much."

Diego tilted his head, "You know, you're a tough one, Kiara. Always have been. But I can see why. You had to be strong for our daughter."

Kiara softened slightly but maintained her tough exterior. "Don't think a few compliments will change anything, Diego. Verónica is my priority, and I won't let you disrupt her life."

Diego leaned back, "Fair enough. But I hope you'll give me a chance to prove that I can be a good father."

Kiara smirked, "Prove it. Actions speak louder than words, Hollywood."

Just then, Selena returned with coffee cups in hand, sensing the tension in the air. She raised an eyebrow, "Did I miss the dramatic confrontation scene?"

Diego and Kiara exchanged a glance, and Kiara quipped, "Oh, you haven't seen anything yet."

As they continued their tension charged conversation, little did they know that this unexpected reunion would be the beginning of a new chapter in their lives – one filled with laughter, tears. The saga of the Fuentes women continued, with each chapter unfolding in unexpected ways, proving that life's script is often more unpredictable than any Hollywood plot. As they navigated the twists and turns of this new reality, the bond of family would guide them through the pages of their wild hearts.
