We're All Sinners

by

In the book of Psalms, King David states, " I am a transgressor, since I was conceived in sin from my mother's womb."

The apostle Paul states in Romans, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, not a single one."

Believe this or not, one of the hardest things, I had to accept in life was, that I am a sinner too. It's not that I didn't already know; it's just I always had this mental picture of what a sinner actually was. I thought you had to kill someone, steal from someone, cheat, lie etc... You name it. Not saying that all those things are morally right, nor are they pleasing to God, but it turns out you're not a sinner based on what you have done or do in your life; your marked at birth.

I remember back in junior high and through my years of high school, we would have health . One time a teacher had explained that if a woman had a certain disease or illness, that she could pass the disease to her baby.

Sin is a disease that passed through Adam and Eve and dwelled in us. But not only is it a disease, but it is also a choice. We (Man) have always had free will to choose, and will continue to reap what we choose, whether it benefits us or destroys us, until the day we either die or Christ returns.

Everyone in their lifetime has either told a lie, cheated, coveted, and has been deceitful at least once or often times more than once. I got a niece who is around 4 years old and she can lie like a grown man, and she is very believable and persuasive. There will come a time when she grows up and she probably won't remember all the little fibs she told when she was at this age. She's got a younger sister. When I pay attention to her, she sometimes gets mad at me, and starts acting out a bit. Then at the end of the day she say's, " I'm sorry uncle Jake I was just jealous. You'd be surprised, some kids know more than what we do.

You see we do wrong, so we have to learn to do right. There comes a time in life where we reach an age of accountability, and we must take responsibility for our actions. Before we even get saved, God gives us a conscience, he allows us to experience conviction, even before we do something that isn't right.

You probably think brother being marked as a sinner isn't fair. Well, you know it also wasn't fair for God to come as a man in the flesh and sacrifice Himself when it should've been us. We needed Jesus to take our place, cause let's face it, we don't get it right. He rose again and now we can live forever in Him.

I encourage you today if you don't know Jesus Christ as your Lord Savior that you will invite Him into your heart and life today. He loves you; He really does.
