Walter

It was a Wednesday afternoon when Walter left school and went to work in his father’s intestines. The job was shit, but the ladder was his to climb and his alone.

“Walter?”

“Walter? Is that you, Walter?” His father would shout before flopping him down the frying pan.

“I aren’t got time for none of your floppiness, Walter. Do you hear me? You’re sacked, Walter my lad.”

And with that his father discreetly removed the ladder from Walter’s left nostril, temporarily leaving him noseblind.

“What future have I got if I have no future?” asked Walter, to his physical philanthropist upon his next visit to the bus stop.

“I’m going to travel the wild wild wild, never to return,” continued Walter.

Just then, two busloads of taxis came at once, confusing Walter like a sausage sandwich.

“Fuck this!” grumbled Walter, spinning on his heels like a rollercoaster. “I’m going home.”

And that’s just what he did.

THE END
