The Sorority Upper Class

Things were getting late in the spring and soon the summer months will arrive heating things up at the Delta Sorority House.

Finishing her junior year Miss Billie K still had a winning personality especially when others were down claiming to be out of the money.

“Well, you can run fast and loud,” she would advise the younger set, “but the true way to put someone in their place is using the Panterita style.”

“Whose Rita?” The question always came from the gallery.

“Oh, when I went to Spain as an exchange student, I learned how to bull fight from a meter maid,” she would always respond, “you have to be like a panther sleek and fast.”

But today things were quiet around the academic living quarters while Miss Billie K used her fraternity hunk Mitch’s pins to hang a bulletin board to show an announcement about Voodoo 101 when her rival winner Lady Hopper entered.

“Miss Billie K I just got my allowance,” she boasted about the fast cash.

“How did you get your purse money?” Miss Billie K step down from the short ladder, “you were a long shot.”

“I put your flashy boys lil sis out of the money,” Lady Hopper waved the wad of green bills.

“Mitch’s lil, my sister Annette she has a money-making show at the Séance Club for Little Darlings!” Miss Bille K growled showing sorority camaraderie and this is when she decided to conjure up the ‘a fleet moon spell’ and turn the Lady into Lunatic Hopper.

Later that evening still claiming justice Miss Billie K visited the steps to Stuart Hall dorm fashionably showing a Netella scarf she bought on a trip abroad.

“Stuart Hall where winning song writers use their pens to rock the ages,” she started to summon. Then slowly shutting her eyes letting her mind relax the moving visions appeared presenting Lady Hopper consoling well known campus rockers “Mr. Bandini’s Band” who were always out of the money.

“Is she?” Miss Billie K watched the scene play out smirking, “Ebrio yet?”

At that moment there were several moons suddenly shining down on Miss Billie K and that is when she concluded things were finished.

Lying in bed she could hear the door downstairs open and a shriek, “I am going crazy,” the voice yelled in a slurring mind state, “that drummer who look like a freshman and I idled had five rings on his one hand and a wife for each one.”

A chuckle decided to entertain Miss Billie K as she went back to the nocturnal cinema called sleep.
