The dead rats

A hungry good rat went to the field in the evening to eat some paddy. Appearing there it saw that the owner of the field was spreading insecticide there.

The rat was very hungry but seeing this it came back to his den with all frustrations. There lived many bad rats around where in the burrow the good rat used to live.

The bad rats ate well and hoarded enough for their leisure and pleasure. But this good rat was different. It never stored and not believed in storing.

As night fell into deep, all the hedonist bad rats used to cut off paddy stalk randomly and by making a channel under the earth they carried a large amount of stalks in their dwelling place.

The good rat told them in several times− “brother, eat how much you need, you can carry some for your bad days, but please don’t destroy by this way. The man must have any family to feed up.”

None heard him!

The good rat thought himself, “we are to live by picking up, but why will we break in and chock up?

The bad rats were always in through happiness and moved together. They have decided to go to the paddy field today at midnight.

Now they are cheering up. They have made up wild brew by the wheat what they hoarded in the last year. By eating them they are all at this moment carousing.

They started mocking the good rat. Said, “see! just see! The saint is coming. Come on, come on dear, eat some and fill up your empty stomach”

A lousy rat among them told with rancorous voice, “Oh no! you will fall in nausea if eat this in empty stomach. Give him some halva, we have made today very tasty rice bran halva. Give, give the poor one some halva”

The good rat got hurt and remained molded at their insulting. Yet he ate that halva over his severe hunger. Rice bran halva with date juice, he got contented by eating it. Following them he ate wild brew too, ate that too much.

He is thinking now, “if I fall asleep, it will be just disastrous. They will all die if they go to the paddy field today. Very bad insecticide the lord used in his corn field few hours ago”

The good rat tried to utter- “Y … O …U today do…n’t go to the fie…ld. The domineer gave toxin in the field to…day.” Uttering this very narrowly he fell asleep.

Seeing him very clumsy the bad rats laughed at. Said, “look at, the piggy is sharply caught in. Oh my wife’s brother, getting just a sip you lost all control! started telling tale already!”

Soon they set for the paddy field all together. They felt lighthearted and carefree over a lot of joy and jolt.

On the other side the good rat was dreaming that all bad rats were falling into death by eating that poisonous rice.

The good rat got up abruptly. Running back to the bad rats he caught up them near the corn field. Stifling over and over, the good rat said to the bad rats, “You. Today. Don’t go down. To The field. The lord of the field used poison over the ripe paddy in the evening”

Bad rats misunderstood the good one. They all got very angry. They told, “we gave you good food, in reply you are falsifying us! You a drunken bull are trying to misfortune us! Son of bitch you are, wait, showing you what you must deserve”

Saying this all the rats jumped over the good rat by snatching all their sneezing claws. None heard his excusing and at last begging voice. They beat him to death.

After that they let themselves to be more fantastic and go down to the field. They started eating juicy ripe paddy voluntarily.

One after one all the bad rats got died. In the morning the owner of the field came and saw that there had been many dead rats scattered in.

He lifted up all the rats to dispose. At the same time he lifted the blooded good rat too with all the bad rats.

All rats are now equally dead rats to the lord. Now there is no difference between good and bad to him, in fact he doesn’t know anything about the rats more than they are just some rat.
