A ritual is a practice or a set of actions we incorporate in our journeys through time and space. Often enough, our customary rituals are subconscious memory patterns based on group mindset as in a community or a religious affiliation. Yes, automated ideas that once adopted are taken as a gospel without ever questioning their validity again.

Some of these routine practices may have deep roots in our distant past. Some rituals may no longer be relevant to our present life scenarios. Yet, we seem to go on and habitually partake without consciously knowing their impact or vitality. Some rituals may be obsolete mental states. Yet, a ritual is often the default way we inhabit a routine in our daily existence.

Rituals can be very refreshing if the original intentions are proactive and self-healing. Some aspects of fine rituals include daily prayer, contemplation, meditation, visualisation, gratitude feelings and healthy laughter. A ritual helps you navigate the vicissitudes of life that you encounter as you journey here.

Rituals can also manifest as personal mind maps such as journal-writing, and spiritual readings of wise works among others. The idea of a ritual is to set some time to reflect and focus on the pursuit of peace of mind, heart and soul. This means that we accept the fact that we have the presence of the in-dwelling spirit within our hearts.

To be spiritual means that we as individuals recognise that there is an aspect of the inner self that is beyond the body-mind of the physical reality we experience and encounter here on these earthly shores. Yes, an inner being that knows far more than the mere existence of the flesh with its attendant appetites and base nature.

Rituals empower each human person to live in harmony with the natural laws that guide our comings and goings in a certain way. Choice of whatever rituals fit your modes of self-esteem and panache is truly up to you. Love, joy and peace are the miraculous consequences of truth that is a discernible consequence of rituals. Unsurprisingly, rituals happen mostly in spiritual postulations, often based on an intuitive awareness.
