EPISODE 11 – RESUMPTION
Just as the break was unexpected and shocking, so was the announcement of the resumption. The most unexpected and most shocking news apart from the news of the death of my father was the news of resumption. The news came at the time when the enjoyment of home was at its peak. It was Christmas and New Year festival period and so chicken and drinks were still surplus and abundant calling for who will devour them and my great school (Obafemi Awolowo University) management asked us to resume just like that. But as usual what choice do we have, but to resume and so resumption atmospheric condition filled the air as students prepared to resume back to school with mixed feelings. The feelings of Joy and happiness of seeing my beautiful roommates again and on the other hand, the feeling of sadness of leaving Chickens and drinks, even though I was able to steal some, and above all, the comfort of my room.
Upon resumption, the first roommate I met after battling with the expected invasion of rats and cockroaches was Sandra. Sandra resumed as if she will not be going home again. In short, she resumed like as if she was going back to her husband’s house after a long period of break from the other room. And gradually we have the whole room filled up again and the fun continued. With the resumption came examination, after all we were close to writing the exam before being sent away and so there was tremendous reduction in the activities in my room but then I fell in love again. WATCH OUT FOR WHO?
