Modeling A Homecoming Appearance

Rivertina was on a fast track pacing her way through a time when she felt her successes were never going to end. Relaxing at an outdoor coffee shop after visiting an endless number of places the teenage fantasy was transported back to the past when she spotted her long-time childhood friend cuddling with a guy too good to be true.

“I know girls love pearls,” Rivertina overheard, “you are a winner and on a good track.”

“Oh, Soky, they are wonderful,” the twenty something gushed separating from an embrace.

Knowing it was the in-debt creep that owned Soky’s Falcon Fashion Rivertina held back the jealous vengeful thought, “he’s a con man and it shows.”

Instead, she stood up from her afternoon java, “Mildura is that you?”

In a second an answer returned loud and clear, “It sure is, Rivertina what are you doing I thought you would be far off modeling in an exotic location?”

As Soky disappeared the two had the girlfriend hug, “oh please, I am home doing a shoot for Entertaining People.”

Smiling Mildura took a seat, “well I met that guy Soky he runs Soky’s Falcon Fashion downtown.”

Rivertina grimaced but cordially listened, “he’s a little bit henry tee, you remember henry tee?”

“Ah no,” Rivertina bit her tongue.

“First person you kissed after Italian class,”

“Wait a second,” Rivertina caught herself, “Mista Pumplechook, yes.”

For some time, the pair reminisced until the homecoming royalty showed up arm and arm just like on that special night before an agent spotted her in a department store, “Ollie and Brook, how are you?” Rivertina exclaimed.

“Very well, we are financial planners these days,” Ollie pumped out his chest, “we got Barry Jonsberg out of the money,”

“The Ironbark fella,” Rivertina confirmed.

“Yeah, you heard of him,” Brook added.

“Then we turned Soky’s Falcon Fashion around and introduced the owner to Mildura,” Ollie continued, “And everybody is in love.”

A few hours later Rivertina was still on her break and the coffee was night shoot cold when the Entertaining People reporter arrived, “Miss Rivertina I am so sorry I am late.”

“That is all right I have all the time for you,” she said getting her glow back.

“Great, I just have a few questions,” the intrepid inquisitive young lad told her fixing his glasses, “now about your high school years like did you have a boyfriend,” he turned the tape recorder on, “where you ever you know in love?”
