Miss Matilda's Magical Petal

Somewhere up north there was a fairy who was out of the money and found itself knocking on the door to an outpost entitled Fort Erie. When the gate opened there was a lovely young lady Miss Matilda who showed the magical icon in with a welcoming gesture.

“Miss Matilda,” the fairy started, “I was had by a Goddess claiming her name was Laxmi and it only took a second for her friend Maya to build an illusion which rendered me penniless.”

“A fairy did not see an illusion coming?” Miss Matilda gave a stern look, “and I think you were talking about Lakshmi.”

“Whatever,” the fairy blood pressure raised.

“Take this magical petal that is a winner,” Miss Matilda suggested, “it has a history you see back when the Americans were swimming in the virgin little creek a gypsy gave the group of men this exact petal and they turned into winners as Seal Team Two members.”

Extremely impressed the fairy graciously accepted the gift and proceeded to leave the military area but before escaping the clutches Miss Matilda had some more claiming to do, “But my dear fairy if you hear even for a second the raven cry then someone will need to show you amnesty, just ask a few of the officers who found themselves out of the money when they were stationed at Tobruk.”

Hearing all this the fairy left Fort Eerie and headed down to the village to see what the maidens were claiming today.

“These days there are so many terms and conditions to being a winner,” the Fairy grumbled, “well things got off to a horrible start but maybe life will turn out for the best with this petal.”

Feeling like a lucky charm was in its possession the fairy entered a place that headlined Martina’s Gal performing, “Are you here to spread some golden dust?” Martina inquired working the booth that checked identification.

“I have the petal from Miss Matilda at Fort Eerie,”

“You got the petal from Miss Matilda,” Martina’s eyes began to widen.

“Yes, at Fort Eerie.”

“Go in watch San Nicola Prancer she is out of the money”

And that is what the fairy did by enjoying the San Nicola Prancer’s show. When it concluded applause resonated leaving the entertaining an allusion someone loves her out there.

About a month later Miss Matilda was enjoying Sunday rest time leafing through the newspaper where a headline sparked her attention, “San Nicola Drops Prancer Name Now Theatrically Wealthy.”

Laughing Miss Matilda answered the door and there was the fairy.

“Well, I see the petal worked,” Miss Matilda greeted the fairy.

“Yup we are both no longer are out of the money,” the fairy replied, “and we both call each of us honey.”

“But my dear fairy friend,” Miss Matilda poured the tea, “do tell me what happened to the Prancer name?”

“I made a raven cry,” the fairy innocently confessed, “only for a second.”
