May The Force Awaken You

May The Force Awaken You

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God --Proverbs. 2:3-5.

“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter”. Proverbs 25:2

I have known about God a long time, some of my earliest memories involve Church pews and boisterous men in suits and white shirts. I have also been fortunate enough to study history and learn about the Aztec human sacrifices and the temple prostitutes in Greco Roman times. I know a little about Buddha and Mohammed and I am aware of the Hindus and their myriad of many faceted Deities. I even remember the Soviets and their stand against religion after the chaos brought about by the Bolsheviks. But what pray tell are we to make of all that?
History, religion and Literature have been my focus through most of my life but as I grown older science has been awakening a part of me that has long been asleep.

I was raised in a loving but strict Christian home and accepted the teaching about Christ at a very early age. But was shaken by a discovery in my teens that raised doubts about everything I had ever been taught. My world was rocked, I didn’t know what to believe or what to do.
So, I went off by myself to think. I asked myself what I truly DID know? Since everything was in doubt I had to find some grain of truth however small that I could work with. The barest bit I could come up with was that I knew I existed. Though I didn’t know it at the time I had cast my lot with philosopher Rene Descartes who said “I think, therefore I am.” I was self-aware, that is how we know we exist. In Latin it is “Cogito ergo sum.” But in English it is “I think therefore I am.”

What a wonderous, mysterious thing it is to exist, to know and think and feel, to love. I could not reconcile these things in my mind without the existence of God. So, I was able to find my way back to God from there.
But remember the Bible was written for all men for all times and it was written in such a way that it could be understood by everyone through the ages. So to the untrained reader some of it may seem archaic and unscientific. What people fail to realize is that the Bible consists of many layers and if you dig a little bit below the surface there are all sorts of treasures you will find. Especially if you study Science in the light of the word of God.
Science has shed light on quite a few things the last few years thus enabling us to see things from a little clearer prospective. Quantum Physics teaches that everything is made up of tiny particles. First there is what we see with our naked eyes then things are broken down to their components. Like baking a cake, first there is the cake, then we can understand that it is eggs, flour, sugar, oil, milk and cocoa that make up the cake. But it goes deeper than that and breaks the cake up into quanta particles, atoms, molecules electrons, photons, neutrons and quarks. Everything is made of these particles, you, the trees, your table, the sky, the sun, the Cosmos, everything. But this beggars the question, just what is holding all these teeny, tiny particles together?
I pause a moment! Try to imagine a drumroll, (some thunder and lightning would be nice). I present to you, God!! Master and maker of the Universe. Though we have searched for him for millennia he has been here with us all the time. Colossians 1:17 tells us that " he is before all things, and by him all things consist”. That’s the answer to what holds the particles together. The Bible calls him light. It is light that holds electrons to the nuclei of atoms and causes the atoms to stay together to form molecules.

“God is light and in him there is no darkness at all” 1 John 1:5. It would be a little New-agey to say here that I think God is literally light. I honestly don't understand exactly what this means, but there are many many Scriptures in the Bible that associate Light with God in one way or another. Light is a symbol God, and the scriptures themselves are referred to as light in the Bible. Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”.
Quantum Physics tells us that all matter is made up of solidified light. Which brings to mind the Genesis story about when God was busy going about the process of creating the Universe. At one point it says “Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God saw the light was good." (Genesis 1: 3-4) Light was the first thing he made before He made anything else.
Light was essential to create these things, since His design requires the light force to bind our particles together. He spoke and by His spoken word things began to happen. Hebrews 11:3 “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Quantum Physics teaches us that reality is relative to the Observer and I believe that is who God is, the Master, consummate Observer. After He finished each part of His creation He saw it and pronounced that “It was good.”
We have discovered that everything is made up of tiny particles we call electrons, photons and quarks. Held together by light. These are the building blocks of everything we know. They make up atoms like hydrogen or oxygen, carbon, potassium and molecules like Barite or H2O. The Bible (ever ahead of its time) explains this in Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse”.
Quantum Physics is a study that reaches down to the very core of things to discover just who and what we are and to try to understand a little about who God is. Acts 17:28 “ For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring”.
If God is light and we are his offspring, shouldn’t we somehow be light beings to? Well believe it or not here it is! It has been discovered that a tiny flash of light ignites every time a sperm cell unites with an egg. We have also learned that the human body literally glows. Scientists say that we emit light in very small quantities at different levels during the day, this light is 1000 times less intense than the light we normally see with our naked eyes. But it is light and it can be detected by specialized cameras that can detect single protons. These cameras were used to study five young male volunteers who were placed shirtless in front of these cameras in complete darkness. This was repeated for 20 minutes every three hours and was discovered that the body glow was at its lowest point around 10 AM and its highest at 4 PM. Their faces glowed more than the rest of the body perhaps because they got more exposure to sunlight. Maybe someday when we receive our gloried bodies we will be as we were meant to be. When we shine like the angels around God’s throne. ‘
Psalm 37:6”He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun”.
Daniel 12:3 “ Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever".
Matthew 13:43 “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear”.We are slow to accept what we cannot see with our basic senses and the concept of things being different from what we have always understood them to be seems crazy. But I have long felt that truth in its entirety is illusive and at best we pick out random truths here and there in our quest to understand the whole. Maybe that’s why this study appeals to me, it arouses my curiosity, my thirst to understand the unknowable. The definition of Quantum Physics is found as such.: “theory of the mechanics of atoms, molecules, and other physical systems that are subject to the uncertainty principle.” This is a trip “Outside the Box” when it comes to scientific studies. But I believe that is where much truth can be found, “Outside the Box”. In this study are taught that quantum particles can move great distances without having to travel through space. That they can morph their fundamental properties to avoid detection. Time travel and multidimensions are thought possible.
More and more people of faith from the scientific community are coming to the understanding that the study of Quantum Physics opens the door to a better understanding of God and creation. Many of the miracles and prophecies in the Bible can be better understood through Quantum theory. Just because we begin to discover how creation works doesn't make it any less a miracle. Like the verse I posted at the beginning of this blog says "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings to search out a matter" Proverbs 25:2. It is also prophesied in Daniel 12:4 that in the last days Knowledge shall increase.
Theologian Paul Tillich said, “The truth of faith cannot be confirmed by the latest physical or biological or psychological discoveries — as it cannot be denied by them.”
If a thing can be confirmed it could not be understood by faith. Neither can the legitimacy of faith be disproved by Science. This fact is farther proven by the study of quantum physics. Sometimes the more we learn the more we understand that there is much that is unknown.
There is a law of logic that states “you can’t prove a negative”. “There is no God” is a negative and it can’t be proven. To prove there is no God a person would have to have “all Knowledge” thus making him a god and the theory would then be disproven.
Blaise Pascal was a man of tremendous insight. He made contributions several fields including literature, mathematics, and science. He has been quoted as saying: “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God the Creator, through Jesus Christ.” In the Service of the Master...Jirehs Girl
