Maizalines McKnight Before Christmas

MCKNIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS The Patissier Christmas Advent Mouse
PART 1

‘Twas the night Christmas Eve, in a Christmas Advent Doll House; Custom made for the tiniest Patissier, a mouse; McKnight... who was the very dear and special (friend and bestie), of a most bright, and excitable, little girl; now one of two children in the McKnight home... Abacinia Maizaline McKnight. who was now eight years old.

She was the eldest of her much younger brother Joseph Anthony McKnight, who was only two years old. Maizie called him JoJo. When born, Maizie was first called Maizaline until the head cook of the house, Ms. Cherry, began adoringly referring to her as little Maizie for short.

When Maizaline became old enough and wanted to be called Maizie by everyone in house and home, she insisted upon it. And her Governess Ms. Taydum made certain that all household and staff obliged her, when addressing the little lady. Maizie was a very smart child, and was considered very sharp for a six year old, and in her parent’s opinion, was now old enough to have a pet. She was the one who even helped redesign the little dollhouse telling the craftsman, just what her bestie, and most talented bakester mouse friend needed.

And the once beautiful dollhouse was eventually turned into the lovely little functional home that was now made... for a mouse. As a dollhouse, it that had everything imaginable in It resembling a Princely estate; but now it had been remodeled to include an exquisite little secretary desk in office, and a little test kitchen with a full range oven, where Maizie said McKnight worked tirelessly to make, bake, and prepare her Advent Christmas dessert recipes.

In an separate area... for times when McKnight wished to behave more like a mouse; there was a food and a water dish, McKnight’s favorite toys, and an exercise wheel. The little home opened like a cupboard with two doors on each side, for when McKnight needed Maizie’s help with things. But when the doors were closed, there were 31 small windows with a number representing each day of the month in December. At the very top above the two cupboard like doors was a little balcony for which McKnight would perch upon to chat with Maizie.

Each of the tiny little windows remained closed until the first day of the month of December. The very first year McKnight introduced her very special recipes, each and every morning, McKnight would open the window for that day, to provide one of her 25 best, tried and proven holiday dessert recipes for an amazing holiday dish; by the following year, the family was well acquainted with the first 23 desserts. But on the 23rd day, the morning before Christmas Eve, there would be a new kind of sugar cookie dessert for Christmas Eve.

For Christmas Day, there would also be a completely new cake recipe, and prototype, and would also be a theme and holiday design for Ms Cherry to create and make with Maizie’s help of course. The grand finale dessert, would be the award winning new Christmas cake recipe, that Ms. Cherry would enter into the Annual Holiday Baking Bazaar that Christmas Eve morning. The McKnight Family has now carried the Best Christmas Holiday cake title for the two years McKnight has been a part of the family.

The wonderful holiday cookies would be after Christmas Eve dinner, and two of which would be placed in a dish and placed on the fireplace mantel for... you know who. Even though no one else saw McKnight the way Maizie did, living just as busily as a little human person would in home, Maizie would completely ignore all of their doubts. She would continue carrying on conversations with McKnight, in the same way she talked with her Governess Ms. Taydum or the Head Cook, Ms. Cherry. Of course Maizie would be doing the most talking.

Maizie vouched for all of the recipes being McKnight’s very own. Although it was incredible to everyone else, there was no other explanation. They only saw a little mouse seemingly happy in her environment, actively enjoying her running wheel, and they loved how the child interacted with her little pet friend. Mom and Dad McKnight just thought it was so special, how vivid their little girl’s imagination was. Maizie would read off the chosen recipe each morning to Ms. Cherry, who would then prepare the dessert for after dinner that evening.

No one knew which one of her twenty five Advent desserts would be chosen from her signature collection. It would be a surprise, but the family knew that it would be one of her amazingly delicious desserts. As a matter of fact, the family anticipated the dessert so much each night in December, their dinners would be quickly eaten. It all began when Maizie became bored with no one to share and play with her dollhouse with, a gift she had gotten, only a couple of Christmas ago,

And after all of her tutoring, lessons in etiquette, music and ballet; before her little brother JoJo was born. She would scurry down to the kitchen staff to spend time with Ms. Cherry. Ms. Cherry was a very talented cook, and she didn’t mind at all sharing her techniques with Maizie, how she made the menus up night and day for the McKnight family. Maizie was especially interested in the dessert recipes and shared some of her own ideas Ms Cherry appreciated very much. The family’s Thanksgiving Day dinner was absolutely delicious; and Maizie took exceptional pride in helping Ms Cherry bake the pies and cake.

But when Thanksgiving was done and over, Maizie soon became lonesome again, wanting a playmate, someone to share her dollhouse with. Maizie seemed lonesome for a new friend, for someone who wasn’t a grownup. And between Ms. Cherry, Ms Taydum, and her parents; they each agreed that what Maizie needed, was a pet. A pet for Maizie would also make a great Christmas gift, and companion until Maizie’s little brother or sister would be born, and it would be an early Christmas gift, to help Maizie look forward to the Christmas holidays.

So Mom and Dad McKnight decided to bring Maizie along for a visit to the local pet shop. They watched Maizie become drawn, to cute a little mouse in the store...saying hello and softly talking with it as if talking with a good old friend.Maizie would now get what her parents and everyone else referred to as a pet mouse. But to Maizie; she got a best friend, who would be like a sister.

As a matter of fact, McKnight would be the very best friend she ever had.
Maizie And McKnight got along great. Maizie would go on and on to her Governess Ms. Taydum, and to Ms. Cherry about how cute and smart McKnight was (in her opinion), and how she had found that they had so much in common.

Part 2
THINGS IN COMMON

#1. Her bestie mouse friend was a had the same name as she. The name McKnight was placed upon her pet store cage when Maizie’s parents (unknowingly to her), purchased her as an early surprise Christmas present when they visited the store. Ms. Taydum would later fetch the gift after the tree would go up and was decorated. Maizie thought it was good enough for her as a last name, so it would be good enough for her new bestie’s first name.

#2. They both thought some boys were ok some of the time; but most of the time... Maizie thought they were obnoxiously disgusting; especially Evan at etiquette school. Maizie told McKnight that Evan was a fresh little brat who always winked and kissed at her, and chased her at recess, just to yank her ponytail; but not Lorenzo of course. She also told her that she believed Lorenzo was just as smart as she were; but that he was so unusually quiet and sweet. He never really smiled, and although the other boys in class didn’t seem to care for him, Maizie thought he would be the perfect specimen of what she and McKnight believed would be the perfect little brother.

Except now that JoJo was now here, she felt JoJo was deserving of the title... “By reason of inheritance mind you,” Maizie added going on and on. “He can’t really help being obnoxiously disgusting, trying to bite me all the time. He’ll grab me as well as anyone by their heads and won’t let go until he has bitten them in the center of their forehead. Poor Ms. McGilly, his Nursemaid. She was only trying to kiss him when he grabbed her... and when he bit her forehead, and she tried to pull away, her entire wig came off.”

“I couldn’t tell if she screamed... for the pain or if it for being so disgusted for the blob of slobber on her forehead with JoJo’s two little peggy imprints right in the center of it. JoJo cried for being so startled by it all... which makes him sort of innocent about the whole thing.”
So McKnight agreed JoJo earned the title, “Perfect Specimen of a Little Brother.

#3. Third and last of all, they both loved everything to do with making desserts. When discovering all of the things they both had in common when Maizie learned that her bestie McKnight was a passionate little bakester. . And when McKnight began bringing Maizie a recipe every day in December until Christmas, she became the McKnight’s Family Advent Patisserie mouse, so deserving of her very special little Christmas Advent house. And as the countdown to Christmas began, McKnight presented each day, the dessert recipe to be made until Christmas Eve. (McKnight’s night before Christmas) And here is how it all unfolded.

Twas McKnight before Christmas, in the McKnight’s family’s house,

The only one stirring was Maizie’s patisserie mouse.

Writing down every step for the head cook to do

The model must be made perfectly,
must be fresh and new

For a unique little twist, she made her own chilled ghee,

Adding sugars and til as fluffy as can be.

Adding each at a time, from the best hen in the yard,

And a twist of flavors and spices, was her wild little card.

The right measure of the right flour she would gradually ad in,

Now to whip, beat, and fold, was her trendy little spin.

The preheating of her oven, for the Celsius just right,

And the perfect baking time was no problem or plight.

With Confectioners sugar and colors, and piping skills never missed...

the beat of her drum with a perfectionist kiss.

The carving and propping, and the theme she would choose,

For a most amazing presentation, oh the skills she would use.

Her well written instructions, now passed down to the cook,

Every instruction and detail, not one iota overlooked.

Until the most amazing incredible Christmas cake would be done,

Winning the judging for the tastings, every one.

And then to home with the prize and til December 31st.

That magnificent Christmas cake would be the McKnight’s family’s dessert.

And not to forget the special sugar cookies, on the mantel placed where,

old St Nick would be expecting the goodies there.

So here is the end of story; about an Advent Christmas mouse, McKnight,

for a little girl’s love and imagination for family Christmases done right.

So from the heart of a very special little girl Abacinia Maizaline McKnight,

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, good night.

In honor of my Mom, who wasn’t given a middle name at birth; and perhaps not much of a great memory of your childhood. However, I imagined you as whimsical, excitable, and such a smart little girl who loved animals. So if one would pair a name with such magnificence as Maizaline, it would be this name, Abacinia Like the name of a memorable monument, an Ethiopian Queen... Mom, how I love your name.
