Why is everyone talking about when we want to know WHAT are they doing on MARS?
I would send pregnant women also strong men to mars... creating Martian families to develop Mars for our future existence... they will learn what to do using computers like they are operating rovers also helicopters today; As they develop infrastructure for a quality life of sorts there... Here on earth, we will send AI Robots to them on Mars with a capable two-way transmission, those transmissions to control robot function 'both' from earth also to be operated by our now Martian human inhabitances there...

Along their way these co-workers now will build our/their railroad, not any railway, one that is both electric, solar powered to hubber above Train tracks like here on earth...
AI Robots will build more of themselves as we reproduce ourselves, so forth, so on...
Soon I/we can send starships with supplies to assist their missions so to accomplish a happy voyage for an ever-never-ending cycle...If I wer a rich man.
