Elan World 6 - The Confrontation

by

The rainbow people welcome us though most seem rather shy,

we spend the whole day teaching them the art of flying high.

When the training's done we choose their strongest, bravest ones,

then gather in the square of town to pray for midnight sun.

The stars are shining brightly, the moon is full and round,

the heavens shout in glory though it's done without a sound.

A subtle breeze now lifts us up and gently sends us north.

The rainbow people bid goodbye, it's time to sally forth.

Suddenly and without warning comes this urge to speak,

for in the distance looms the castle there on mountain's peak.

I say: "For this great day I've been reborn, to save the Elan race,

to aid the lowly, humble ones who've vanished with no trace.

From this point on l'll take the lead as your anointed queen,

they'll sing songs of this victory - the greatest ever seen!"

The angel who has led till now with meekness steps aside.

With hearts of iron we head north, the skies are quickly plied.

Before the dawn we reach her gloomy castle made of ice,

then seek an open window on my mother's sound advice.

Quietly we flutter in and find the room is dark,

to our dismay the window shuts behind us as we hark-

A stranger's voice outside the door as someone shouts my name.

Could this be a godless trap? I hear my name defamed.

The door swings open- there she stands! Somebody lights a lamp.

"So, Princess Elana, you've invaded my little camp!

You may be wondering how I knew, when I learned your scheme.

The little boy who helped you out gave in through tortured screams."

Sad to say the youngster passed, but not before he sang,

it taught a lesson to the rest of that rebellious gang."

Her sentinels then lead us through a lengthy marble hall

then down a winding staircase, ugly gargoyles line the walls.

I feel a sickening dread as we reach our destination,

this shrine must be some holy place, the duchess takes her station.

"It's time to let you in on why I changed my point of view-

My name is Dalmanutha, for years I've sought what's true.

I chanced upon Shinobi, the god who made all things,

his name was long obscured, may his greatness now take wing."

She claps her hands and gives commands to those who do her will,

colored lights shine on a throne where someone's sitting still.

She claps again and then we see the object of her zeal,

a ghastly god made out of ice who cannot see nor feel.

I feel a rage I've never felt in all my troubled life.

The God I worship can't be seen but I know that he's alive!

I step out in the light and look into her dark, cruel eyes,

the time has come to show to all the folly of her lies.

"My father trusted in your love, so easy to deceive,

you seek to steal his kingdom, this is what I believe.

Before he died he promised I would sit upon his throne.

I cringe that what I must do now will cause all to bemoan.

At once I give the command and we blow with all our might.

The tempest we create melts her vain idol out of sight.

That icy god that cannot see nor hear nor utter sound

will nevermore be seen again, will nevermore be found.

I order all those on my side to seize the errant queen,

that evil witch that threatened peace is nowhere to be seen.

A rainbow warrior finds her lying dead upon the throne,

her ice-cold heart apparently had turned itself to stone.

The ice god and it's icy queen had hearts that held no love,

if only she'd submitted to the true God up above.

No time to waste, the precious ones held fast must be released-

Elan World is on the mend, may peace here never cease.

Spooky stuff. Your imagination is wild. I love the names chosen for Evil Queen and "Shinobi", the god who made all things...
