All about Me

Hazy memories seem to crowd in now and then, and all of a sudden they clear, or seem to.As near as I can recall ,I was in a place that was sometimes dark , sometimes light. It was crowded I remember that. I struggled to move around and get comfy. It was fairly easy when it was dark as the Place hardly moved at all but after a while , when the light came, the Place never stopped moving and we all, those with me , were rolled around jostling each other. I don't know how long this went on for as I had no idea what time was back then, it meant nothing to me, just like it means nothing now. the story I want to tell you is all about the bit in the middle. All of a sudden I felt I was trapped, I was moving but I wasn't causing it, it was the Place that was doing it. It was pushing me along this tunnel then it disappeared, I was no longer in Place and where I was felt huge and so bright, even though my eyes were tight shut it was almost blinding and I was cold. I really wished I was back in the Place where it was at least warm. I noticed something else too, now it wasn't crowded any more. I was alone and it was very scary. This didn't last long as I was soon joined by another from the Place, I instinctively knew that we were joined by something, not sure what at the time. Another joined us , then another and still another. We had all been moved out of the Place into what? I wriggled around and felt something brush over me again and again. I needed something, instinct again told me to wriggle closer to the warmth and I found a place where I could get what I needed so I clamped my mouth on it and drank a lovely warm liquid, it was a totally new experience for me that seemed so natural. and I also felt the others touching me as they drank too.How we knew who our Mum was is a puzzlement but we did and knew that she cared for us. She licked us and cuddled us close to her warm fur. We felt safe again, like when we were in the Place. As our eyes opened we saw and recognized each other by pure instinct. We knew that the big one who looked like a giant to us was also our provider, she was our Mum. All five of us started to get stronger each day, we learned very quickly that we had to stand on our legs, a bit wobbly at first but we soon got the hang of it and were moving around in this big space with light at the top. Try as hard as we could there was no way we could get out but Mum did. In one fluid move she was over the top and gone. We played for a while liking all the space we now had, then one by one we fell asleep.Mum came back after a while and we all cuddled up and drank from her, she didn't seem to mind at all. As time went by we got stronger and stronger and we longed to go with Mum when she jumped up into the light. Then one day I woke with a fright, something huge had hold of my neck! I struggled but it was no use, I mewed for Mum, it was no use. I was out of the new place and moving high above, looking down I saw Mum and the others they seemed so far away. In an instant I was dropped into another place , followed by one of the others , then another, until we were all together again except Mum. This new giant loads bigger than Mum, looked at us and picked the place up and walked away, we could hear Mum's whimpering getting further and further away. We were all scared. The noise all around us was almost deafening, we were jostled around and knew we were moving. It was dark. We were hungry, we wanted our Mum. Then the noise stopped, we had stopped. The giant loomed over us and laughed.
To be continued.
