Have worked "on the road" on electrical transformers and other large electrical apparatus for 32 years.  Was a bricklayer before that, and a Computer Science major in college still farther back.

I love my wife, computer games, traveling, beverages, arguing, philosophy and writing.

The charms of the internet

I was going to read a few poems today, then go back to my game.

I'd felt a little burned-out on poetry this week, and started playing 'World of Tanks.'  It's one of those games with a steep learning curve, solid gameplay, and the satisfaction you feel as you gain some understanding.  Later, no doubt the dissatisfactions will mount, and the initial "high" will wear off.  The game developer will seem more and more like a cruel joker who really only wants to induce people to spend money and more money.  Somewhere in there, I will quit.

Yet for now it's great, and I was only going to read a few poems.  Well, the whole day has gone by, and I read a vast number of poems, even wrote one.  You just never know....

Somewhere, there is a blind essence, trying to find its way, gingerly touching ahead as if through the sands of an ancient watercourse.

It doesn't have friends,
Just companions of chance,
As they swirl together,
In celestial dance.

Ah Teddy, that game frustrated the heck out of me - trying to play it on a computer. Perhaps it's just so designed-for-mobile devices...

Ha! Frederic, it was 10 degrees Fahrenheit or -12 Celsius here this morning (midwestern U.S. between Ohio and Pennsylvania). The only flapping going on here was people trying to brush snow off their cars.

I enjoyed your blog. The game is something I would never do, but I am glad you like it and more glad that you saw poems and even wrote on today!
