I'm a New York poet, well published in literary journals and poetry anthologies throughout the U.S. and, also, internationally. In 2006, my poem "on yet another birthday" was nominated for a Pushcart prize. I've authored 5 books of poetry: “Facing Home” (a chapbook), “Facing Home and Beyond,” “little, but by no means small”  “Food: Nature vs Nurture” and "Gone, but Not Necessarily Forgotten. Ruth, answering comments is time consuming for sure, does take some dedication to keep up but not everyone responds to comments (and at times that has been me in the past) so you are not alone, don't worry just keep writing and enjoying the site . . .

Thank you for the kindness as I have read your poems and I believe I commented on one of them that gave me pause to think..you sound like someone who doesn't have the time you would like..life is short please enjoy it...

Hi Ruth so nice to meet you. Not sure I have read any of your work, but I will for sure be doing so. So many wonderful poets and so little time. My favorite part of soup is reading all the other poems and being able to comment and receiving comments on my own work. That is what makes soup such a special place. Looking forward to reading your work.

Hi Ruth - great blog. I love the feedback i get on my work and try and read as widely as I can I try and comment back but there isn't always enough hours in the day and life issues take over. Happy reading and writing to you too:-) Hugs Jan
