TERCET CONTEST

Hi Soupers, My tercet contest is on and I have received some wonderful entries, but with wrong syllable count. I expect the same number of syllables in every line and I will be strict about it. If you have entered the contest, kindly edit your poem and re-enter the contest. I don't want anyone to lose their places because of this small technicality. Hi, Sorry www.howmanysyllables.com no longer works on my computer (let me know how to fix it?? 403 forbidden). I used the PS syllable counter, which you challenged and said had errors. Syllable counting in NOT an exact Science. A manual count of the line you challenged => "We miss our footing, hand in hand" <= clearly has 8 syllables!! So perhaps a little leeway is needed. For example for the word 'prances' some say it's 1 others say it's 2.

The second line is" Leaving the rat-race far away," clearly 8 syllables. I got howmany.. going again and its all 8 now for every line! re-submitted just in case. Note: The PS syllable counter shows 7 for this same line ; and 8 when the dash (-) is removed => hence the confusion!!!

It is heartwarming to see a sponsor using correct terminology - re "tercet". May I ask a favour, please: Could you use linebreaks in your example poem as it is difficult for me to read in the current format on the contest page? Thanks. :)
