Sonnet or Hybronnet?

What is the difference between a sonnet written in tetrameter and a hybronnet? Or is there one? Any clarification would be much appreciated.

Hi Dale, I wouldn't get too wrapped in the hybronnet "gobbly gook". Especially the way it is explained on Poetry Soup. There is no specific definition that makes any logical sense and to lead off the sonnet definition with the 10 syllable requirement is, in the current poetic environment totally misleading. Calling 14 line poems quatorzains is less restricting and more accurate. Tetrameter doesn't denote syllables but metric feet. There are perhaps 40 or 50 types of sonnets to include contemporary or modern sonnets that don't have to adhere to the strict rules of the more traditional sonnet forms. In short, hybronnet as defined here is a waste of consideration.
