Shadows in the Magic Kingdom: My Dark Disney Obsession

I’ve always been drawn to the grit beneath the glitter. While Disney gives us singing birds and "happily ever afters," I see the horror lurking in the bones of those original fairy tales. There is something deeply unsettling about a glass slipper that fits a severed heel or a queen who demands a literal heart in a box. My goal To strip away the technicolor and find the uncanny. Subverting the Sweetness: What if the "true love’s kiss" doesn't wake you up, but traps you in a recursive nightmare The Cost of Magic: In my tales, transformation isn't whimsical—it’s visceral and painful. Atmospheric Dread: I want to turn the Magic Kingdom into a landscape of charcoal woods and silent, watchful mirrors. Rewriting these classics isn't about ruining childhoods; it’s about honoring the dark, cautionary roots of the stories we think we know.
