Country of Origin

May I make a suggestion. Would it be possible to display a poet's home town and country of origin along with their name on their homepage? I personally would find this helpful and very interesting to know for no other reason but curiosity. Cheers, Jack

Hello Jack, I am from Cardiff , that is in Wales. I use the UK flag as boo hoo you dont have the Welsh one. Unfortunately, I must agree about unsavoury characters waiting to pounce on any info offerred. Cheers. Seren

I agree on the country part. But not town. Sometimes I mention mine, but my son told me I was not being careful enough online and that it's a bad idea to be telling lots of info because of all the people out there trying to steal identities. However, I would love not having to guess a person's country every time I am here looking at their poems.

I don't know if it really matters if the country is displayed. it is always nice to know where someone comes from and a flag is a nice idea.

I admire the poets here who are not native English speakers.

Hi Jack! I'm feelin' "semi" dumb this am! ...pc (no negative vibes towards speech-impaired chaps intended) so I'll wave a red flag! I think the intention of soup is to present all participants equally, with no pre-conceived expectations...my experience over 3-yrs. Is...as soup friends evolve, quite a bit is revealed! My guess is someone here knows my favorite color/where I'm from/and where I like to escape to on weekends and w/who (hint, she's 83 and close to publishing an historical memoir with University of Wisconsin Press).....jimbo
