I Know Him

HE sat on the stoop as I pass, this OLD MAN;
HIS Eyes are on me. I do not know HIM.
HE told me to "GO HOME BEFORE THE RAIN".
One drop of rain touches my face before I entered my door.
A STORM IS COMING.
Morning. The storm has passed.
A feeling of warmth surrounds me.
Still, I see this OLD MAN sitting on the stoop.
HE told me to "GO THE OTHER WAY" to work.
I don't know why, but I listened.
No one's at work; a fire blazing.
I pass the OLD MAN this evening.
HIS Eyes are on me, my eyes are on HIM.
He smiles, I smile.
I look into HIS Eyes; HE looks into my eyes
AND AT THIS MOMENT I KNOW WHO HE IS!
