Flowers

Diversity in color,
Pleasant aromas in the air,
A simple way to tell someone,
How very much you care.

Each moment you pass by them,
A small token, yet they are,
They represent the thoughts and feelings,
Of another, from afar.

With basic needs and minor care,
They’ll stand up proud and strong.
They’ll reach out toward the sunlight,
And remain open all day long.

But if they are neglected,
Or left out in the dark,
They’ll lay dormant and protective,
Closed up...quiet, stark.

Reflecting inner beauty,
Is easy can’t you see,
But to care, is to take a dare,
Without risk, it cannot be.

But show your heart,
Make an honest start,
The rewards, how swift and grand,
For we may walk together,
Side-by-side & hand-in-hand
