Seeing your smile in the sunlight
Hearing your footsteps down the hall
When I hold you in my arms
Your look says it all
These are the things that matter most
The times I hold dear
Life has so many surprises
The ones you love aren't always near
With a smile upon your mask
You face each new dark day
Though you scream inside for the lost
Within your heart pain has its way
You have to fight for what you want
Hold tight to what you got
No one can do it for you
It's not as easy as you thought
My search for you will never cease
Even as the world keeps turning
As the long days turn into years
