Penance

What is yours and what is mine?
What is that line you so carefully defined?
Define the air that pumps in my veins..
That desperation of your warmth in the rain
Rained and ruined that roof I built and cherished
Cherish my restlessness… I’m left with no home
Now has nowhere to go
Go…Leave me be; I’m one of your own.
Own the hurt you caused with your ignorance
With your decision to leave me unheard
Hear the hope hanging by the bare thread
Thread the needle.. I am left with no air
Air that you breath is same as mine?
Air that you breath is me. Admit there is no need.
Need to pursue you with a passion dark as night.
Night is your colour.
Colour that got under my skin
Colour that became me.
Colour that left a scar and witnessed what you did.
Did you not see me getting cast aside?
Did you not hear me gasping in pain?
That pain is you. My separation from that pain is you.
You demanded me from myself.
You laughed at my attempt to hold on.
On my dreams you wished to trade
Trade softly. There is an yearning for you…
Woe is you.
Kneeling when I pray, that relief is you.
I lost a war in a wager. That debt is you.
What I saw as a reflection is you.
I speak of me, I speak of you.
You. What I am is YOU.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
