So Will You Come With Me

Can you hear the drumbeats
     Gathering a sound
     mixing blood and sand
     Stolen form the ground

      Broken men
      Marching to the sea
      eyes are empty
because there is nothing left to see

     Mothers weep for mercy
for their boys to return home
To dance among the city lights
the only place they call their own

    Vacant buildings
    surrounded by trash
    Children smash broken bottles
    As brittle as yesterdays dreams
    Praying for God's only wrath

So will you come with me
