Vulnerability

Suddenly I feel lighter,
exposed and helpless.
Vulnerable.
She whom I hid for eternity 
is revealed, and I can only pray.
For both of us – 
that she learn to stand strong,
and I to walk away.
Please – 
take her lest she lose her footing.
Carry her to where I can’t,
and stay beside her
To warm her tender heart.
