Ego
He’s your shadow telling you to act like you don’t care
Telling you to smile through the tears
Telling you to hide your biggest fears
His name is ego
he entered your mind a while ago
He taught you how to fake high
when you felt your first low
Taught you to hide your weaknesses
To say yes when you wanted to say no
He’s in your brain, parallel to your heart
Forcing you to use him when you’re falling apart
