I Wish You Knew Me Now.

I wish you knew me now
I'm different
Or at least I comfort myself
With the belief I might be
Comfort myself that
Maybe now I know more
Maybe now I know I know less
Or maybe
Maybe now
I know who I am
Finally

I wish you knew me now
Because
That thing I did
And that thing you said
And that middle-ground that we never found
And all those myriad things
That made it impossible
For us
To know each other anymore
Seem of little consequence
Now

I wish you knew me now
I understand that you can't
I understand I hurt you
I understand that you can't stand
To hurt me anymore
I could
Tell you that I'll never hurt you again
Tell you that it'll be different this time
Tell you that I've learnt my lesson
But I can
Tell that it wouldn't matter
Anymore

Sometimes I wish you knew me now
So I could show you the scars
That you gave me
That I gave myself
In your name
Then
I'd make you examine them closely
I'd make you run your fingertips over them
I'd make you remember each one
I'd make you understand I cherish them
I'd make you see how
They made me
Beautiful

I wish you knew me now
You're so incredibly special
Without you
I've become more
But I feel less
Maybe if you knew me now
The feeling would come back
Because you always made me
Feel
Challenged/loved/compromised/safe/understood
You always made me feel
Known

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
