Emotion Driven

With every breath of my body
And every beat of my heart
My mind travels back to you
And how we fell apart.
Maybe I didn't love you enough
Or not as much as I should
Perhaps it wasn't in me
Or just maybe never could.
I never meant to hurt you
But I'm not the only one in the wrong
And I try so hard to get over you
But it just seems to take so long.
I wish I had some answers
So things could be all clear
That I could understand why
I lost 48 days of a year.
"Locked inside a heart shaped box"
And what was I to you?
You never told me you cared
Was it something you couldn't do?
Now we're both alone
And I know it's sad to say
That when we see each other
We turn and look the other way.
