No More Dreaming

I don't chase rainbows,
I've grown too old.
There's no more fantasies
when reality has been told.

I don't believe in Leprechauns
or in pots of gold;
and clouds are just clouds
when imagination's grown cold

The unicorn never was
nor dragons and knights so bold,
Nursery rhymes and father time
the illusions I used to hold.

The dreamer did not awaken,
he merely passed away in his sleep;
I fear the dream faded with him
and for the dreamer I weep.
