The Forbidden Bridge

On a cold starry night,
In a lonely old square,
I sit on a bench, filled with fright,
Before he comes, I blankly stare.

I had my passions, and also my knife,
he had to come, I hope he’ll show,
this night, all its cold, kept my life,
with just one kiss, he had to know.

When the sky was clear,
the people gone,
the days have gone by fast this year,
but this night just keeps on.

Trapped by this forbidden love,
this naughty sin,
he caught me from above,
and held me from within.

We lay in the street,
When it started to rain,
nothing to meet,
and lost all the pain.

So we went back to the park,
my knife by my side,
he followed me in the dark,
there was nowhere to hide.

The shining crescent,
tears down my face,
his kiss he sent,
put the lies back in place.

I remembered the pain,,
slid my hand across the blade,
the blood and the strain,
set me gently, had me laid.

He grabbed my side,
and picked up my knife,
with it was my guide,
my pain, my shelter, my life.

I grabbed the blade,
and ran off in fright,
but he caught the fade,
and held me in the light.

The night was never,
his love, was true,
the pain forever,
and the cut, was new.
