The Birthday

Ding-Dong, Who’s there?
It’s me, your student. Please come in.
I gobbled some chocolates,
And disposed of the wrappers in the bin.

Is there something special? Try & guess.
Are you going to do the ‘Magic If’?
Do you have memory loss?
You are not the boss!

I saw everything around,
And then went to the kitchen.
In the oven was Maria aunt’s birthday cake,
That somebody baked.

Maria aunty, it’s your birthday!
I should have remembered it first.
I crush my knuckles,
And tup-tup-whoosh, I hear a cracker burst.

You are very special.
You learn fast in the cast.
Very friendly and kind,
Old but not blind.

She teaches and also learns,
In her, the fire burns.
You take the lead,
At a very epic speed!

Let’s finish the talk,
And cut the birthday cake.
We sing the happy birthday song,
May God give you a life really long!
