The Mask

Behind your mask,
hidden deep within
lies my worst enemy.
You are my worst enemy
now that you’ve uncovered your mask.
You are everything I once said you weren’t.
A liar;
A cheater;
A deceiver and heart breaker.
How could I love someone so evil?
Yet it was wasn’t you,
it was your mask.
I once loved you, your mask.
Now I hate you, the real you.
Behind your mask,
hidden deep within
9 months later revealed the real you.
And now there is no mask to hide all the pain you caused me.
You are now my worst enemy!

I love this poem. This happens to so many people and you're right. Its a mask but one day you'll meet someone who will make forget all of those masked men. Keep your chin up. :)

Like your poem, Sara. That's the way it is in the world. I always say though if we were attached to billboard (unknown to us) with all our thoughts going onto that board we would all be surprised at ourselves as well as others. Sara K
