Satsang, In the Company of the Truth

Satsang, in the company of the Truth

One word from you is enough,
	enlivened with your intention,
to stop the mind from its fluttering.
                Chant.
         Repeat the Name. -
                Peace.
	     Peace.
		Peace.

You enter the hall,
	settle down in a chair,
		folding up your legs.
Before opening with your remarks,
	your gaze fills the room
		and falls on us all.
Your eyes speak volumes
of ancient times and other worlds.

You talk of infinite possibilities -
	our potential to do good,
	our ability to be happy
		amid shifting, changing circumstances.

I’m enthralled.

I’ve raked leaves under trees.
I’ve dug in the trenches,
	here and elsewhere,
searching for something,
whether gold, silver or the philosopher’s stone
to add substance to my labor.

You tell stories.
You chuckle.
You laugh,
welcoming us with all your heart
demonstrating, proving once and for all,
         by your example,
		the Truth in your sayings.

When the lights dim.
we turn within
         to experience your presence -
		the joy, the love
and the purity of your motive.

It’s you I’ve been looking for,
It’s you who is the end of my desiring.
You are the goal
     and
        you are the way.

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The Lord's blessings be with you.
