Welcome Home

Why do I continue to come to this mountain?
This mountain with the jagged rocks below.
The jagged rocks that appear to be comforting arms that keep reaching for me.
The whispered voices that keep calling my name.
I have been here many times.
Many times listening and pondering.
Many times mystified and yet believing.
Finally I have come to realize why I return.
Why the whispering voices keep calling - calling to me in my dreams.
Why the comforting arms reach out - reach out to me in my dreams.
They know I belong here, know I belong to them.
Patiently they wait - knowing what my decision will be.
Knowing I will step off the mountain.
Allowing them to wrap their loving arms around me.
Allowing them to whisper in my ear “we love you”.
I step off the ledge glancing upon the arms and hearing the whispering voices as I fall.
I feel the pain as the jagged rocks pierce my body.
The pain does not last long as the consoling arms wrap me with their love.
The whispered voices whisper “We love you, Welcome Home
