The Text

What if the asteroid didn’t hit earth
What if my mother never gave birth
What if we did more than just text,

But that's it
The asteroid did hit earth
And the dinosaurs are gone
My mother did give birth
And here I am alive
And we text like you’re 5000 miles away
When in reality you’re only a five minute drive

I wait for a text about your day
Or to hear about how you’re doing these days
To hear about choir
Or about your new friends
I want you to talk about all the languages you’re learning

I'm waiting for the text that never came

So if you see this by chance or by fate
Send me a text
So i know i'm not too late
