Honey Hill
Take me to honey hill where the flowers dance in the wind,
and the four by four quilt lays thin,
between us and the grass.
As if translucent you see my thumping organ
that lets me gasp.
The crickets in sync with the melody of the bees.
The clouds change as we wind down
to make our minds imagine the strange. Hug my hand,
kiss the surface of my thumb, remind me
how it felt to go numb.
Take me to the top, where the ombre orange will set
and we will embrace in
the lucent love yet to forget. Mesmerized
by the markers that make the sky. Your breath like a rush,
on my raw, supple skin.
The newfangled air that ripples in our veins to find
our harmony within. Watch as the stars come
out to rejoice, and the wandering words whispered
with a voice so dear. I’ll dwell
in your love, but only until
we’re spread too thin.
