Heaven Took You Away

Scent Heaven took you away
I've asked GOD, every single day,
to send you back to me, helplessly I pray.
I am so heartbroken, hopelessly going through the motions of my life.
Angrily denying that Heaven took you from me, Heaven took my Daddy away.
Now that your gone, it's so hard to carry on. Eleven years now it's been, it doesn't seem that long ago. No one knows what this loss has done to me, I am not alive sometimes it seems. I'm a ghost to those around me
desperately I struggle just to get through each day, ever since Heaven took you away.

Connie what a wonderful poem! A FAV for me. My mother was taken to Heaven 31 years ago. I still miss her like it was yesterday. My faith tells me that I will see her again. I learned to let go and feel good about her being in Heaven. How good it must be for her up there. I cant wait to see her again.

Connie, I know just what you mean. I just lost my precious wife and am having problems adjusting to it. At any time I hear or see something related to her and burst immediately in tears. I also write poetry and country music lyrics and everything I do or say is some how tied to her death. God bless you. George.

Connie, I read this the day after the seventh anniversary of my father's death. I hope that things get easier. Welcome to Poetry Soup! Writing is therapeutic for me. I hope it is for you also.
