Gone

I killed her.
Her smile gone. Her skin pale. Her eyes a void of darkness.
The knife-in my hands. Covered in tears: Lies And Fake promises.
Her heart gone; her hope lost. Her trust forgotten.
She gave me her love. Which I broke into pieces. Yet-I still awaited a refund.

Whose promises and lies are mentioned in the second stanza. If they are of protagonist then ,this is quite devil of him.I did not get the refund line.Care to explain the last stanza?
